AEP Specialized Lighting & Events is a production company that strives to professionally meet your lighting and audio-visual needs. Everything from column lighting to Monograms on dance floors, AEP is your one-stop shop for all event lighting! This local company is happy to provide their services across Windsor-Essex County, and across the river in Michigan. When meeting with Tuan Huynh and Ryan Fielding at a local coffee shop, it was evident that AEP has so many exciting things going on, and they were eager to share! As two of the four members of the team, they were able to provide some great insider knowledge into the industry.

A little bit about the team: AEP’s team of skilled technicians are capable of providing quality service and equipment in all fields including weddings, corporate events, theatrical performances, and concerts.

Who you are: Sean Atkins, Paul Bonventre, Ryan Fielding and Tuan Huynh. “We all love production and events. There's really no other way to cut it!”

What made you decide to open the doors to AEP Events?

Each with many years in the  industry, their combined knowledge made for the perfect time to collaborate and open the doors to AEP Events. “We want event planners and organizers to be able to acquire the quality service and equipment they need within the Windsor area,” they said. They jumped at a chance when they saw there was room for a production company  of their size here.

Where can we find you? When I met with Tuan & Ryan, they were leaving our meeting to finish painting their new space, which is located at 360 Eugenie St. E. “We  would love for everyone to stop by and say hello!”

Years in the Business

“Ryan and myself have about 15 years between us, but Paul and Sean probably have 20-30 years of experience each,” Tuan says. They certainly are not new to the industry, which certainly gives them an edge, and the necessary expertise for their line of work.

When asked what their favourite part of the job is, Tuan simply advised, “the satisfaction of another gig well done. Honestly, we love it all. The prep work, the setup and operating the event.” Tuan then jokes that maybe the teardown is not his favourite part, but still understands the importance of a job well done, from beginning to end.

AEP is not restricted to weddings - some of their favourite events they have undertaken include the Pelee Island Unplugged Festival. “This is one of my favourites by far. It's a great festival where you come to enjoy the music with friendly people and camp out. It has a more intimate feel to it, being on the island and all,” Tuan says.

Favourite part about working with couples to make their Big Day special

“Watching their faces when they first enter the room. At this point they have witnessed a blank canvas, but seeing them come in and see the lights and special events for the first time is quite the moment,” Tuan says. They admit that they have watched many brides cry tears of happiness upon entry, seeing their vision come to life.

AEP Events loves making specialized requests a reality. “Uplighting for the venue, custom monograms and detail highlighting are our main options for couples getting married,” they said. We also do custom builds for signs like our wooden LOVE sign, which we made for a wedding to match their rustic/vintage theme.

Best Advice for Couples

“Honestly, while I personally find lighting to be very important, budget is the all-time most important thing to plan. We don't just want your money, we also want to help make sure your day is unique and memorable for your guests and most importantly, you,” Tuan concludes with.
